Estonia vs Wales Predictions
- Estonia have scored twice in all of their home games in this group
- Wales have conceded twice in all of their away games in qualifying so far
- Estonia have suffered heavy defeats at home to Belgium and the Czech Republic already
Welsh eyes on second
With Belgium picking up twice as many points as Wales so far, any hope of moving into top spot is seemingly beyond the Welsh at this point. They only have three games remaining including Monday’s visit to Estonia, but they sit third in the group.
Friday’s 2-2 draw at the Czech Republic left Wales level on points with the second-place Czechs. The Welsh have three games remaining including a home clash with Belgium, while the Czech Republic head to Belarus and host Estonia. That makes Monday night a must win clash for Rob Page’s men.
Estonia’s hopes could end
Estonia sit a further four points off second after picking up their first win in the group at the weekend. Any slim hopes they have of making the top two are likely to be extinguished this week, despite the point they picked up in Cardiff last month.
However, this isn’t likely to be a walkover for the Welsh. They hosts have scored in each of their last five home World Cup Qualifiers, scoring twice in each of their home games in this group so far.
Another thriller for Wales
Estonia have lost 6-2 to the Czech Republic and 5-2 to Belgium in this group, so it’s worth backing goals when these two clash. Wales need to go all out for a win here but they’ve conceded twice in their last two away games.
Wales won in dramatic fashion away to Belarus last month and their draw in Prague was a real thriller. Given Estonia’s good scoring record at home both teams to score looks like great value, as does a 3-2 victory for Page and his men.
