Exeter vs Barnet Predictions
Exeter City have managed to gather a bit of momentum over the past month or so, winning three and drawing two of their last five League Two fixtures. This run of form has taken them up to 14th position in the table with 52 points from their opening 37 matches.
This isn’t any improvement on last season, but after a few poor runs they will just be happy to be safe from the looming relegation battle. They do only need another 12 points from their last nine matches to beat last season’s 64 point haul though.
Barnet were promoted as Conference Premier champions last season, and it didn’t take long for them to settle into professional football. They are one position below Exeter in 15th, with their 47 point tally putting them a very comfortable 20 points clear of the dreadful bottom two, who both look resigned to semi-professional football next season.
Barnet’s main problem has been inconsistency. They have only really had one good run of form this season, and since then it’s been scatterings of wins, draws, and defeats with no real momentum being gathered.
Away from home they have managed to remain unbeaten in their last five matches though, and they will feel relatively confident of getting something from this match as they come up against an Exeter side who have only won one of their last nine on home turf, although the four draws in their last six matches there points towards neither team taking all three points.
Bet365 have obviously overlooked this statistic, because their odds of 19/20 for a Barnet Win or Draw Double Chance look incredibly good value considering Exeter City’s recent failures to win on home turf. I’m going for this along with a 1-1 draw at 11/2.
