Can Cartagena make it three in a row?

FC Cartagena have made an impressive start to the season, picking up four wins and two losses from six matches, only failing to score in a 1-0 defeat to Burgos.

Luis Carrión’s side have seen both teams net in two of their three fixtures at home, while they have drawn a blank in only one of their last 11 outings at Estadio Cartagonova.

Seven of those games have ended in victory, but they may have their work cut out in a first ever meeting with Alaves.

Alaves on a mission

After their relegation from La Liga last season, Alaves are in good form, picking up four wins and a couple of draws from their opening half a dozen matches.

There are concerns over the defence though, given Luis García’s side have only kept one clean sheet so far, with both teams scoring in five of their fixtures.

They have in fact now gone 17 away games without a shut out, although both teams have scored on 11 occasions, so they are strong at the other end.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, but I find it hard to split them, with a 1-1 draw my correct score prediction.
