FC Porto to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Porto have won six of their last seven home Primeira Liga games while Vizela have lost two of their last four away league games, going down 5-0 at Arouca and 6-1 to Benfica. Also, at least four goals have been scored in two of Vizela’s last three trips to the Dragao, all of which ended in defeat for the visitors.

FC Porto 3-1

Reason for tip

Porto have beaten Vizela by more than one goal in their last three meetings and average three goals per game across those. Vizale scored at both Benfica and Sporting earlier this season and may come out looking to catch Porto cold after their midweek exertions.

Wenderson Galeno To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Galeno has scored six goals in his last seven games in all competitions. The Brazilian has been in deadly form and will be the dangerman if coach Sergio Conceicao chooses to start him again.

Dragons may lack some fire after crushing Euro exit

Porto could be pushed all the way by Vizela when they return to Portuguese league action after Wednesday’s crushing Champions League exit at Arsenal on penalties.

Sergio Conceicao’s side, who were a couple of spot-kicks away from making it through to the quarter-finals, must now avoid that result affecting their chances of making it a three-way title race.

The Dragons look likely to be without Alan Varela through injury while the coach could make a raft of changes to combat the onset of fatigue. Conceicao’s squad is strong enough to clinch three points in this fixture, but they are likely to be given a tough test by a Vizela side that have been hard to beat on the road.

Vizela will hope to catch Porto on a bad day

The second-bottom club have avoided defeat in seven of their last 10 road trips, although not at either of the other two ‘big three’ clubs and neither on their last three visits to Porto. The Vizelenses will be hoping to catch a hungover and tired Dragons side as they seek an unexpected return to boost their survival bid.

But, in all likelihood, Porto will come out on top in a game likely to feature goals due to the home side’s potential for fatigue in midfield. And, based on the visitors’ previous ambition at both Benfica and Sporting where they scored each time, a 3-1 defeat could be on the cards.
