Mourinho to work his magic

Fenerbahce lost last week’s first leg in France 2-1 but they are more than capable of turning things around on home soil, especially as they have won seven competitive fixtures on the spin at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Head coach Jose Mourinho – a two-time winner of the Champions League – will certainly be confident his side can get a result on their own patch and Fener have won their three other competitive fixtures since the Portuguese took charge.

Lille not the best travellers

Lille finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and were impressive in beating Fenerbahce last week, but they are not the best travellers, winning only five of their 17 road fixtures in the French tip-flight last term.

Bruno Genesio’s side may not know whether to stick or twist in this game, given they have a lead to protect, and they may come unstuck against a Fener side that have lost just once at home since November.

The omens are certainly not good for Lille, as in the three previous meetings between these two sides, including last week’s first leg, the away team is yet to win.
