FK Qarabag vs Sevilla Predictions

Qarabag picked up all three points at home to Neftci courtesy of a 2-0 final score, while Sevilla maintained their unbeaten start to the new La Liga season with a 1-0 win at Alaves.

All of the stats suggest we will be in for a low-scoring game between these two clubs on Thursday and make Sevilla favourites to claim all three points.

The form and performances of both clubs over the last month or so point towards Thursday’s clash producing fewer than three goals, because under 2.5 goals have been scored in two of Qarabag’s last six and each of Sevilla’s last four matches, with both teams scoring in just two of Qarabag’s last six and one of Sevilla’s matches.

Sevilla are unbeaten in their last five matches and have won their last three away games, while Qarabag have only conceded four goals in their last six matches and Sevilla have kept three clean sheets in their last six matches and have scored in each of those six games. All of the above adds weight to our prediction of a 1-0 win for Sevilla in Azerbaijan on Thursday but the bet on under 2.5 goals being scored allows for a second Sevilla goal if one arrives.

Both teams are in good form but Sevilla test themselves against much stronger opposition on a more frequent basis than Qarabag and certainly boast the stronger of the two squads, but Azerbaijan can be a tricky place to travel to for European regulars such as Sevilla so we’re fully expecting a close and competitive ninety minutes between the pair.

Sevilla are an experienced European side that have won this competition on more than one occasion but they haven’t scored more than two goals in a match so far this season and haven’t conceded in their last three away games, which is why we believe a 1-0 is on the cards for the La Liga side.
