Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Struggling Forest Green have seen both teams score in seven of their last 10 outings, while their only two clean sheets in 18 fixtures have come against Non League opposition in the FA Cup. Birmingham meanwhile have seen both teams score in six of their last nine fixtures, a period during which they have managed just one clean sheet

Birmingham 2-1

Reason for tip

Forest Green have scored exactly once in six of their last ten outings, but conceded at least twice on three occasions, including a 2-1 defeat at home to Burton. Birmingham meanwhile have netted at least twice in five of their last 11, such as a 2-1 win at Stoke

Forest Green Rovers vs Birmingham Predictions

  • Seven of Forest Green’s last ten matches have seen both teams net
  • Birmingham have seen both teams score in six of their last nine outings
  • Forest Green haven’t caused an FA Cup upset in 2015

Forest Green have bigger fish to fry

Forest Green Rovers sit bottom of League One, have lost four of their last five and kept just two clean sheets in their last 18 outings – both against Non League opposition in the FA Cup.

It has been a tough campaign for manager Ian Burchnall, whose attentions will surely be on staying up as opposed to congesting their fixture list with extra matches in this competition.

Either way, he needs to arrest an alarming run of form, and while seven of their last ten league matches seeing both teams score, Rovers haven’t beaten a team in a higher league than them in the FA Cup since 2015.

Birmingham need a win

This is almost a no-win situation for Birmingham, who are expected to put Forest Green to the sword, but they too are focusing on staying up in their respective league, with four straight defeats doing them no favours.

John Eustace’s side have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine matches, outlining their flaws at the back, while both teams have scored in six of those fixtures.

They have, however, lost only four of their last ten on the road, and although history suggests they will concede, they should come through this tie.

I predict that both teams will score, with 2-1 to Birmingham my correct score prediction.
