Grimsby Town vs Accrington Stanley Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Two of the most out of form teams in League Two will be hoping for some festive cheer when they meet on Boxing Day but for our tip we are backing Grimsby to win either half at 8/11 with bet365. It’s been a difficult start to life as Grimsby Town manager for Marcus Bignot and with just six points coming from their last eight league games he will be hoping he can get all three points on Monday. The Mariners have slipped from a comfortable play-off position and while they are not yet involved in the relegation battle, if their current form continues it wont be too long before they become entangled.

Accrington make the trip with plenty of troubles of their own, they have the worst form in League Two with just two points from their previous eight league games. Much of Stanley’s problems have come from their inability in front of goal, they have scored just 20 goals in their 21 games, the worst record in the division. Accrington have also had their troubles on the road, their nine points from their 10 away games is the joint worst in League Two.

Given the poor form of both these sides, we feel an air of caution is appropriate for our tip. We think Grimsby have shown slightly better form and with home advantage thrown in as well they should have enough to come out on top.
