Heracles vs FC Emmen Predictions

Heracles and Emmen both made it through to the Second Round of the KNVB Beker in midweek, and now the two go head to head in the league. Hosts Heracles have started the season in fantastic form and have the same points total as both Ajax and Feyenoord, while Emmen have adapted well to their first ever season in the Eredivisie and sit comfortably in mid table.

Last weekend Heracles strolled past another of the newly promoted teams, De Graafschap, 4-0 at home, with a twenty-seventh minute own goal from the unfortunate Vet getting the ball rolling. That single goal separated the two clubs at the break, but in the second half Heracles were much more ruthless in front of goal.

Peterson continued his fine start to the campaign in front of goal by doubling the home sides lead in the fifty-eighth minute, which meant the visitors had to push more men forward in search of a goal to get themselves back into the match. Heracles took advantage of the space opening up in the De Graafschap defence and scored two late goals through Kuwas and Vermeij to wrap up a 4-0 win.

Sweden’s Peterson has now scored seven Eredivisie goals in the opening six matches for Heracles and has certainly contributed to his sides excellent start to the season. Emmen only have one player in their squad that has scored more than once in the league so far this season, with Bijl leading the way on two goals.

Emmen were edged out of a very tight and tense game at home to slow starting Zwolle last weekend, with Dekker’s thirtieth minute strike proving to be enough for the visitors to take all three points. The hosts gave as good as they got in that match and had more possession than their guests, but Zwolle took one of their few chances on goal and it proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day.

Six points separate fourth placed Heracles and tenth placed Emmen, and both teams will be more than happy with the start they have made to the season. Obviously the bookmakers fancy a home win and we can’t really argue with that as Heracles have been in great form, but that bubble will surely burst soon and it wouldn’t surprise us if its an unexpected team that end Heracles winning streak.

We’re confident that Heracles will win this weekend and that over 3.5 goals will be scored in the process, with the final score reading 4-1. Heracles have won five of their last six matches, while Emmen have lost three of their last six matches. Over 3.5 goals have been scored in five of Heracles’ last six matches, and Emmen conceded over 3.5 goals in two of their first three Eredivisie games this season.
