Huddersfield vs Bristol City Predictions
Early season leaders Huddersfield really look to have hit a brick wall and right now they are playing more like a bottom half side than one that could challenge for promotion. They’ve taken just 2 points from their last 5 games and have won only one of their last eight to plummet down the table into 8th place. Nothing about them right now convinces you that they are going to dominate this game and it promises to be a very close affair between what are two quite evenly matched sides.
The main problem for Huddersfield of late is that they’ve suddenly started leaking goals, having looked very assured at the back in the opening months of the season when they won plenty of games 1-0. They’ve still managed to net in 6 of their last 7 but they’ve let in 15 goals over that period having conceded just 9 goals all season prior to that.
Many of those recent games haven’t been against great sides either so there is plenty of reason for Bristol City to think they can get a positive result here. The Robins ended a poor run of form with a win last weekend and have only lost one match all season by more than a single goal so all the signs are that this will be a tight game and it’s certainly not one that Huddersfield are likely to run away with.
Veteran striker Aaron Wilbraham started for just the 2nd time this season last time out and his physical presence made a difference and he is perhaps a better foil for lively youngster Tammy Abraham, who has just suffered a dip in form. They have enough tools to cause a Huddersfield defence that is leaking goals right now problems and, therefore, the visitors should have enough to get a result from the game. Therefore, backing Double Chance – Draw or Bristol City at 4/6 looks like the value bet.
