Huddersfield vs Charlton Betting Tips

Huddersfield have been improving under David Wagner and look capable of pulling themselves away from the relegation scrap. The Terriers are unbeaten in 4 matches and have taken 7 points from their last 3 games in the league with important victories coming at home against Preston and Bolton.

They are now 7 points clear of the relegation zone but this still has the feel of a six-pointer and they could extend their lead to 11 points on Charlton with a win here but defeat would see them dragged right back into the dog-fight.

Fortunately for Huddersfield, the prospect of Charlton winning a match right now looks unlikely whatever the circumstances. The Addicks haven’t won any of their last 8 league games and were sent tumbling out of the FA Cup by lower league Colchester at the weekend.

They have taken just 12 points from their last 21 league games and the only surprise is that they are still are only within 1 point of safety and while they remain in touch, Karel Fraeye will believe his team has a chance of dragging themselves out of this mess.

This isn’t a good time to be going to Huddersfield though and the Terriers are creating plenty of chances and have scored twice or more in 5 of their last 6 matches. At 8/11 they look well worth backing for a 3rd consecutive home win here.

There are likely to be a few goals in this game and despite poor overall results, Charlton have scored in 4 of their last 5 away games. It’s at the other end that their principal problems are though and a 3-1 home win looks a tempting correct scoreline bet at 12/1.
