Hull City vs Swansea City Predictions
- Fewer than three goals have been scored in 11 of the last 14 Hull City league games.
- Fewer than three goals have been scored in six of the last eight Swansea City matches in the Championship.
- Swansea City have failed to score in three of their last five away league contests.
McCann makes way after Tigers’ takeover
Hull City will attempt to earn a third league win on the bounce when they take on a Swansea City side going through a lean patch in front of goal this weekend. The Tigers sacked manager Grant McCann less than a week after they were taken over by the Turkey-based Acun Medya Group and after he had guided them to back-to-back wins which moved the club 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
Whether or not reported replacement Shota Arveladze is in place for the visit of the Swans, Hull will be full of confidence for the fixture as they aim for a fourth home win in six attempts. It won’t be straightforward against the Welsh club, who play a possession-based game under Russell Martin.
Swansea have won two, lost two and drawn two of their last six away trips with the common denominator generally being a lack of goals at both ends. Fewer than three goals have been scored in six of their last eight matches in the Championship.
Hull can keep Swansea strikers at bay
This statistic aligns superbly with Hull City’s record over the last 14 league games – with 11 of them featuring fewer than three goals. The recommended bet, therefore, is to back under 2.5 goals on Saturday.
Swansea are struggling to create high quality chances and put them away with Ryan Manning’s 25-yard drive against Preston the only goal Martin’s men can show from their last 180 minutes of action. Without injured attacking midfielder Olivier Ntcham, leading scorer Joel Piroe didn’t get much service at QPR in midweek and Swansea’s eight-goal forward Jamie Patterson has been out since December.
The Tigers’ back-to-back clean sheets suggest to us that Swansea will probably leave the MKM Stadium without a goal and steer us towards a play of a 1-0 home win in correct score betting.
