Hungary vs Netherlands Predictions
- Netherlands have won three of their last five games.
- Hungary have three defeats in their last five.
- Hungary have failed to score in three of their last four games.
Easy night for the Dutch
The Netherlands have started the new Nations League campaign strongly with four points from two games and they look good value for all three points at the Puskas Arena on Friday.
Hosts Hungary were considered potential dark horses heading into Euro 2024 by a few observers but they underwhelmed in Germany and have disappointed since.
Hungary have just one point to show from their two Nations League games, a 5-0 defeat to Germany and a 0-0 draw at home to Bosnia, and with the Dutch in form – they’ve won three of their last five – and away win looks a strong play here.
Backing the Netherlands to cover a -1 handicap or win to nil are other options if you’re after bigger prices, and that is reflected in a correct score prediction of a 2-0 win for the visitors.
Hungary have failed to score in three of their last four games, scoring just one goal during that run, and six of the Netherlands’ last eight wins have all come by two or more goals.
Ronald Koeman’s side have scored at least twice in five of their last six games and two seems a reasonable total for the Oranje against a Hungary side who shipped five against Germany in Dusseldorf in September.
Xavi Simons scored in the last batch of Nations League games and could be an outside contender for a foal here. The 21-year-old has one goal in six Bundesliga games for RB Leipzig and is averaging a solid 1.7 shots-per-game in the German top tier.
