Iceland vs Denmark Predictions
- Iceland have lost all six of their previous Nations League encounters
- Denmark have won each of the last seven meetings between the pair
- Both teams have scored in only one of Denmark’s six previous Nations League fixtures
Denmark can add to Iceland’s Nations League woes
Iceland have lost all six of their previous Nations League encounters and the manner of their 5-1 mauling at Belgium in September suggests another tough test is in store at home to Denmark.
Prior to that, Iceland registered just two shots – none of which were on target – in a limp 1-0 loss at home to England, who were restricted to ten men with 20 minutes left to play.
England were nowhere near full-strength – their midfield was severely depleted – and they were considerably below their best, so it is of some concern that they failed to force a save from a vulnerable Jordan Pickford.
Denmark have won each of the last seven meetings between the pair and they look a good bet to maintain their dominance.
The Danes held England to a goalless draw after the Three Lions toppled Iceland and they had the better of the argument, winning the shots statistics 11-6.
Both teams have scored in only one of Denmark’s six previous Nations League fixtures and given Iceland’s lack of firepower – they have failed to score in three of their last six competitive matches – we are predicting an away clean sheet.
Denmark have conceded only once in the last six meetings with Iceland. We predict the Danes to prevail, with the 1-0 favoured scoreline. Two of Iceland’s last three defeats have been by that margin.
