Iceland vs Wales Predictions

  • Wales have won five of their seven meetings with Iceland
  • The Dragons have lost just one of their last 12 matches
  • Iceland are unbeaten in their last four home fixtures

Fired-up Dragons could melt Iceland

Wales have taken four points from their opening two Nations League fixtures and our prediction is for them to at least avoid defeat when they take on Iceland in Reykjavik on Friday.

The Dragons have beaten Montenegro and drawn with Turkey in their last two outings, and those results are part of an impressive sequence recorded by Craig Bellamy’s side.

It’s one defeat in 12 for Wales who have looked refreshed under Bellamy who replaced former head coach, Rob Page, in July, and their record against Iceland is good, too.

Wales have won five of their seven meetings and backing a Wales win while keeping the draw on side looks the best course of action from a betting perspective this week.

Attacking approach could pay off for Wales

Iceland are unbeaten in their last four on home soil and were too strong for Montenegro in a 2-0 win last time out, so could offer some resistance when Wales visit.

However, the Dragons pose much more of a threat and Bellamy’s penchant for attacking football could see them put the home side under considerable pressure.

A lively encounter is predicted this week, and although Wales have failed to score in their last two on the road, their new-found positive approach could see them extend their unbeaten start to their Nations League campaign, and a 2-1 Wales win looks the best bet for correct score punters.
