Inter Milan vs Lecce Predictions
- Inter Milan won nine of their last 15 home league games to nil last season
- Lecce lost 4-0 at home to Atalanta last week
- Marcus Thuram scored twice in Inter’s 2-2 draw at Genoa to make it five goals in his last eight Serie A appearances
Lecce looked hopeless against Atalanta
Lecce’s miserable start to the Serie A campaign looks highly likely to continue when they face champions Inter Milan at San Siro on Saturday evening.
Too many defensive errors and little concentration when out of possession allowed Atalanta to run out easy 4-0 winners at Via del Mare. Once they fell 2-0- behind shortly before half-time there was very little scope for a comeback, but the lack of fight in the second half was a major concern.
Maybe there are a couple of players angling for moves before the transfer window shuts, but any repeat of a performance like that against Inter will be ruthlessly punished again.
Nerazzurri will want to get Genoa draw out of their system
The Nerazzurri were held to a 2-2 draw at Genoa thanks to Junior Messias’ late leveller, but it was not an unjust result. The Rossoblu actually created more in terms of expected goals than Simone Inzaghi’s side – something they will want to put right quickly in front of their own fans.
Inter were well used to winning handsomely at home in the second half of last season, covering a -1 handicap in seven of their final 13 home league games. But winning with a clean sheet came with more frequency, landing in nine of their last 15 at the San Siro.
Backing the hosts to win to nil looks like a favourable option here with the prospect of them inflicting another 4-0 defeat on Lecce also worth a small stake on correct score betting.
