Inter Milan vs Ludogorets Predictions
- Ludogorets registered just a single shot when the pair met in the first leg last week.
- Ludogorets conceded seven goals in three travelling matches during the group stages.
Inter in pole position
It took Inter the best part of 75 minutes to break the deadlock in Bulgaria, and until virtually the last kick of the game to double their lead, but it was a dominant performance from the Italians. From the word go, Antonio Conte’s men were in charge, as they suffocated their hosts, allowing them next to nothing in the way of attacking play.
Having delivered a commanding performance away from home, Thursday’s hosts will be ultra-confident of finishing the job off with little fuss.
Visitors struggling
Despite playing in front of a home crowd, Ludogorets failed to get involved during the first leg. They did manage to hold off their opponents until late in the game, which is something of an achievement, but the fact that they offered next to no attacking threat was very disappointed.
In 95 minutes of first leg football, the Bulgarian side registered no shots on target, while they mustered just a single shot in the entire game. Such a stat is very worrying ahead of Thursday’s clash in Milan, as is the fact that Ludogorets shipped no less than six goals when they visited a Mediterranean country back in November.
Opportunity for the hosts
After last week’s dominant effort, Inter have themselves an opportunity to fill their boots on Thursday evening. Punters can profit by siding with ‘Inter to Score Over 2.5 Goals’. It may have taken them a while to find their shooting boots in the first leg, but the way in which they created regular chances bodes well ahead of this second leg. Moreover, we’ve seen that Ludogorets lack the defensive strength to compete against decent sides, as they heavy defeat against Espanyol shows, while Inter have been no strangers to scoring plenty of goals at home of late. In recent home matches, the hosts have scored four against both city rivals AC Milan and Genoa. The aggregate score also lends itself to the selection, as the visitors will no longer be able to sit back and soak up pressure.
