Inter vs Juventus Predictions
Juventus got back to winning ways after back-to-back draws with a 2-0 victory against Inter in Turin on Sunday night, extending their lead at the top of Serie A to four points ahead of Napoli’s trip to Fiorentina on Monday. Juve’s domestic form has been outstanding after a sticky start to the season and Massimiliano Allegri’s men have kept 10 successive clean sheets in Serie A and Coppa Italia action. With 16 wins from 17 Serie A fixtures Allegri’s side have been a relentless juggernaut in recent months, with their 3-0 lead from the first leg of this Coppa Italia semi-final putting Juventus in a commanding position.
Roberto Mancini skipped post-match press duties at the weekend, complaining of flu, and it is understandable if he feels under the weather given Inter’s recent problems. Having led Serie A at the mid-season break, Inter’s form has subsequently collapsed and they have only won two of their nine league fixtures in Serie A in 2016. Inter beat Napoli to book their semi-final place but were disastrously thrashed 3-0 by Juventus in the first leg in Turin. It is hard to see Inter fighting back in the second leg on Wednesday.
Whether Juventus can continue their amazing form depends very much on whether Allegri sees this fixture as a chance to rotate his squad. Defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci may be unavailable through injury, giving Daniele Rugani a chance to impress, while Simone Zaza and Alvaro Morata could start in attack with Paulo Dybala given a rest. Whatever team Allegri picks it is likely Juventus will continue to be resilient at the back, having kept 10 successive clean sheets in domestic competitions. The draw at 23/10 with bet365 appeals, while 0-0 at 15/2 is also attractive.
