Inverness CT vs Kilmarnock Predictions

It’s that time of the season in Scotland where the top flight splits into the top and bottom half, with each team playing every team in their half of the division for a final time. This bodes well for relegation candidates, because it gives them a chance to play against clubs of a similar stature to themselves in order to battle for survival.

This is exactly what Kilmarnock will be doing. They currently occupy the relegation playoff position, holding an eight point lead over automatic relegation but sitting four points adrift of safety. However, it’s all in their own hands as they go into the final five games of the season.

They managed to boost their chances of survival with an impressive 3-0 win against St Johnstone last weekend, ending their seven match winless streak and injecting them with some much needed confidence as they go into a crucial stage of the season.

Inverness CT recently endured their own seven match winless streak as well, but away victories against Ross County and Dundee United have boosted their spirits a bit. However, at home they have only managed one win from their last six and have lost three of their last four. They aren’t completely safe from the drop yet either, with eight points sitting between them and Kilmarnock.

Kilmarnock aren’t particularly bad away from home either. They have managed to avoid defeat in three of their last five trips away, and both of these defeats came against top three clubs in Aberdeen and Hearts.

I think Kilmarnock have an excellent chance of getting something from this match. They have a decent record of avoiding defeat away from home and are coming up against an Inverness CT side who struggle to win at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Odds of 8/11 for a Kilmarnock Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value to me, and I’m going for a goalless draw as my correct score prediction as well.
