Inverness CT vs Rangers Predictions
Inverness CT had a disappointing campaign last term as they finished outside of the top six for the end of season split. The new season doesn’t look to be going any better as they’ve lost all of their first three Scottish Premiership games.
This came after they scraped through their Scottish League Cup group, only to be eliminated by Alloa Athletic in the first of the knockout rounds. However, the hosts have started to improve over the last six weeks or so.
Inverness CT got their first points of the season in a 2-1 win over St. Johnstone at the back end of August, and they followed it with impressive draws against Aberdeen and Celtic. Another win against Dundee followed, but they could only manage a draw at Hamilton Academical before the international break. This has pushed them to 8th in the Premiership table, although if their form continues in this vein they will feel confident of pushing further up the ladder.
Liam Polworth has two goals in his last two games from midfield. He’s a tasty 4/1 to score anytime with bet365 on Friday night and make it three in as many games.
Rangers secured their long awaited return to the top flight last season, and the perfect record in the Scottish League Cup group stage bode very well for the season to come. It hasn’t quite turned out like that though.
Rangers drew their opener against Hamilton Academical, and since then it’s been a bit of a roller-coaster for the Glaswegians. They’ve failed to beat the likes of Kilmarnock and Ross County either side of a humiliating 5-1 thrashing in the first Old Firm Derby of the season. This defeat led to some sort of outburst by Joey Barton which has resulted in his suspension from the club.
They remain in the League Cup thanks to 5-0 victories over Peterhead and Queen of the South, but they have also lost to Aberdeen in the Premiership and find themselves 5th in the table. They are already seven points adrift of Celtic, with the leaders having a game in hand as well.
Away from home Rangers have only won one of their four Premiership matches this season, and whilst defeats to Celtic and Aberdeen are understandable, their draw at Kilmarnock is a very poor result. Inverness CT have only lost one of their six competitive games at home this term as well, and that includes being the only team to take a point from Celtic.
The hosts are unbeaten in three at home, so considering Rangers’ poor record on the road, I think an Inverness CT Win or Draw Double Chance at 5/6 is an excellent value bet. I’m going for a 1-1 correct score prediction at 11/2 as well.
