Ipswich have won their last six home games and should be backed to be leading at half-time and land the win/win double result when they host Preston on Saturday.

They are third in the league table, six places and seven points above Preston. Both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with Ipswich having 14 wins and Preston 11.

Ipswich have been winners in five of their last seven Championship games and have won three of their last four home games against Preston. However, the visitors have enjoyed two successive wins over Ipswich.

The visitors’ recent away form has been poor. Preston have lost three successive Championship games and have had four defeats in their last six.

Ipswich have scored in five games in a row, including a 3-0 win over Blackburn two weeks ago, and have found the net at least twice in five of their last seven Championship games.

They have won seven of their last nine Championship home games.

A 2-0 home win for Ipswich looks a decent correct-score option. Six of Preston’s last seven Championship games have ended with at least one of the sides failing to score, and Ipswich have won two of their last three matches by at least a two-goal margin.
