  • Preston are unbeaten in six league games, with their last four ending all square.
  • Stoke have won five of their nine Championship matches this term (D2, L2) but just one of those victories has been on the road.

Lilywhites to extend unbeaten streak against Stoke

Preston sit ten places behind Stoke in the Championship table, but The Lilywhites look capable of holding The Potters at Deepdale this Tuesday after going six league matches unbeaten.

Boss Frankie McAvoy has done well to steady the Preston ship after a disastrous start to the campaign which saw The Lilywhites lose their first three league games. Two wins and four draws have followed to bump North End up towards mid-table and progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup was also ensured last week with an easy 4-1 success over Cheltenham Town.

Confidence should be building amongst the Preston squad considering they haven’t tasted defeat since mid-August, and they’ll be driven to keep their unbeaten streak in tact on Tuesday against a Stoke side who have struggled to find their best form on the road.

The Potters have amassed 13 points from a possible 15 in their own backyard following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Hull City at bet365 Stadium, but they’ve managed to collect just four points from as many matches on their travels.

While Michael O’Neill’s men are riding high in fifth, they could struggle to break through this resolute Preston outfit, just as they did when the teams drew 0-0 towards the back end of last term.

We’re going for a stalemate again in this Tuesday’s fixture, though 1-1 is our correct score prediction this time around with the hosts netting in all four of their league starts at Deepdale so far.
