Israel vs Scotland Predictions

  • Israel have avoided defeat in four of their last five meetings with Scotland since 2018.
  • Scotland have lost on each of their last two trips to Israel.
  • Scotland have lost eight of their last 13 away assignments.
  • Israel beat Scotland 1-0 when the teams last met in November 2020.

Scotland and Israel paired again

Familiar foes Israel and Scotland renew their rivalry when they meet for the sixth time competitively since 2018 at the Bloomfield Stadium in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier, where Steve Clarke’s side face a tricky task in Tel Aviv again.

Scotland have found Israel a tough nut to crack since being paired with them three years ago, and the Tartan Army have managed to win just one of the five fixtures played between the sides since then.

That poor run also includes two defeats from two visits to Israel, and Scotland could struggle to reverse that record on Sunday.

Israel taste early defeat

Israel stumbled out of the blocks in Group F on Thursday evening when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Denmark, though that was only their third loss in 12 fixtures on home soil.

Willibald Ruttensteiner’s side matched the Danes for attempts (14 each) however, and but for some heroic defending from the visitors, Israel might have enjoyed a different result.

Israel to upset Scotland again?

Israel last played Scotland as recently as November last year, when a solitary strike from Manor Solomon was enough to secure a 1-0 victory for the hosts in Netanya, and another positive result for the Blue and Whites could be in the offing on Sunday.

Scotland impressed for large spells of their 2-2 draw with Austria at Hampden Park in midweek, though they remain a far more vulnerable outfit on the road, where they have lost eight times in their last 13 assignments.

With just one defeat against them in five previous meetings, Israel seem to have the measure of this Scottish team, and they could be worth backing in the double chance market as a result.

Our 1-0 correct score prediction is for more adventurous bettors, and we’re tipping Israel to match the winning result they secured against Scotland in their homeland last year.
