Juventus to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Juventus are unbeaten in their last six in Turin with two wins and four draws. They should be encouraged by their late comeback to claim a 3-3 draw at Bologna enough to win this final game of the campaign – and with more than just the odd goal. Monza, meanwhile, are winless in their last eight league games with two defeats in their last four road trips.

1/2odds when tipped

Juventus 2-0

Reason for tip

Monza have failed to score in two of their last four away league games and should struggle to breach a Juve defence that has kept three clean sheets in their last four at home and in the recent Coppa Italia Final. Juve’s attack sparked into life against Bologna last time out and they can bag twice in a 2-0 win.

Federico Chiesa To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Federico Chiesa scored in Juventus’ last game at Bologna and has been taking plenty of shots in recent games – 13 in total in the Old Lady’s last three league games.

Juventus vs Monza Predictions

  • Neither team has anything tangible to play for as the hosts are guaranteed Champions League football and the visitors are safe
  • Juventus are unbeaten in their last six in Turin with two wins and four draws
  • Monza have  lost two of their last four away Serie A games and failed to score in two of those four too

Allegri’s gone but Old Lady can still bite back

A turbulent season in Turin concludes on Saturday when fourth-placed Juventus entertain mid-table Monza in the final round of Serie A fixtures.

The last couple of weeks have been crazy by even the Old Lady’s standards as Massimiliano Allegri masterminded Juve’s Coppa Italia Final win over Atalanta only to be sacked for his behaviour to match officials and Bianconeri superiors on the night. Paulo Montero stepped into the breach for the remaining two league games and saw a weak Juve side fall 3-0 behind to Bologna, coached by the man the club want to take charge next season – Thiago Motta.

Montero’s men showed some fighting spirit and laid down a marker if Motta is their boss next term by grabbing a 3-3 draw with an incredible 15-minute comeback illuminated by some terrific goals. Federico Chiesa proved to be Juve’s sparkplug again with his eighth goal of the campaign setting them on their way before Arkadiusz Milik smashed in a free-kick and fellow substitute Kenan Yildiz came up trumps in the final few minutes.

Monza have been treading water for weeks

The performance levels Juventus reached against a very good Bologna side with one of the most organised defences in Serie A suggests they should be finishing much closer to Inter Milan, but they lost their heads in the second half of the season.

Monza appear to be on the beach though after a fairly dreary season with only a couple of standout displays, so this is an opportunity for Juventus to end on a high.

Raffaele Palladino’s side are winless in their last eight matches in Serie A and look likely to concede another couple of goals, although they rarely crumble completely. They have failed to score in two of their last four and could be without loan star Valentin Carboni through injury, so a 2-0 defeat could be on the cards.
