Kalmar FF vs Sirius Predictions

• Kalmar have won four of their last five home league games, scoring no more than twice each time.
• Sirius have lost two of their last three Allsvenskan matches.

Red Brothers are best when they’re at home

Kalmar are enjoying some good home form and can keep their winning run going against a Sirius side that was fortunate to earn three points at Norrkopong last weekend.

The pride of Småland have won four of their last five at Guldfågeln Arena, all of which were built on the foundation of a clean sheet. Overall, their only defeat in the last seven came at leaders Hacken and they probably should have held on for a fifth victory during that run last weekend when bottom-club Helsingborgs salvaged a draw in the 90th minute.

Kalmar coach Henrik Rydström will know all about the visitors after he spent over a year in charge at Sirius before returning to the Red Brothers. Blåsvart, who have finished either 10th or 11th in each of the past three seasons, are exactly where they should be in the table.

Sirius struggle against top-six teams

Sirius survived a first-half onslaught from Norrkoping to claim an important three points last weekend, but they had taken just five points from a possible 18 on the road prior to that. Daniel Bäckström’s team have fared badly against top-six opponents this term, losing three of their four matches so far and this should follow the same pattern,

Kalmar’s home record would suggest a win to nil could be on the cards, but Sirius have scored eight goals in six away games this season and may well grab one here. But, as KFF generally stop their scoring at two, a home win with under 3.5 goals in the game is worth the added risk for the extra reward.

Consequently, a 2-1 home win is forecast for Sunday’s game.
