      Draw

      Reason for tip

Las Palmas and Valencia are among 12 teams who could still mathematically be relegated from La Liga with five games remaining, so a cagey contest looks likely in Gran Canaria this weekend. Both sides have shown plenty of fight in recent weeks, with Valencia having the better of it thanks to an eight-match unbeaten run. A draw would be a suitable outcome for each team.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Valencia’s last two matches have finished 1-1 and they would likely settle for that outcome once more in this tricky fixture. Las Palmas have the greater need for a win but not losing their main will be their main aim, so a low-scoring draw wouldn’t be a great surprise as they have scored more than once in just one of their last five outings.

      Las Palmas vs Valencia Predictions

      • Valencia’s eight-match unbeaten streak includes four draws
      • Las Palmas haven scored more than once in just one of their last five outings
      • Valencia’s last two matches finished 1-1

Cagey contest looks likely in Gran Canaria

No fewer than 12 teams can still mathematically be relegated from La Liga with five games remaining, and two of those sides, Las Palmas and Valencia, meet in what could be a cagey encounter on the holiday island of Gran Canaria this weekend.

Las Palmas start the weekend third from bottom, two points adrift of safety but have shown some fight in recent weeks with two wins from their last three matches.

Things have gone even better for Valencia who are on an eight-match unbeaten streak, but four of those have been draws and Los Che may have to settle for another point this week.

Their last two outings have finished 1-1 and that looks a solid prediction for those picking a correct-score wager.

That outcome would suit Valencia more, as they are seven points clear of the drop zone, but they have scored more than one goal in just one of their last six outings, while Las Palmas have also been weak in that area too.

Saturday’s hosts have scored twice in only one of their last five fixtures, so it is hard to see the floodgates opening in this encounter.

Avoiding defeat will be Las Palmas main aim, but Valencia will also be happy not to force matters, so a cagey clash looks likely.
