Roma and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Roma have won seven of their last 10 home league games with both teams scoring in five of their last six. Meanwhile, Cagliari have lost eight of their last 10 away Serie A matches with both teams scoring in six of them.

Roma 2-1

Reason for tip

Four of Roma’s last six Serie A wins have been by a 2-1 scoreline. The capital club have solid home form, but have conceded in five of their last six games at the Olimpico while Cagliari have scored in five of their last seven away league trips, conceding exactly two goals in four of them.

De Rossi’s Roman revival to continue

Roma’s revival continued last weekend with a win at Salernitana and Daniele De Rossi’s outfit should do enough to earn a third victory on the bounce at home to Cagliari on Monday.

The Giallorossi were a touch fortunate to pick up all three points against Serie A’s bottom club, who dominated the game up until Roma scored with their first shot on target – a penalty in the 50th minute.

And they were made to sweat by a late fightback from their hosts, who were denied a stoppage-time leveller by a smart save from Rui Patricio.

Rotten road results for Rossoblu

But Cagliari’s away record does not suggest they will be capable of punching a hole in a solid sequence of Roman home results. The Sardinians have lost eight of their last 10 away trips in Serie A, including against the likes of lower-half outfits Frosinone and Verona.

Meanwhile, Roma have won seven of their last 10 league games at Stadio Olimpico, only slipping up against three fellow top-six sides AC Milan, Atalanta and Fiorentina.

But they have managed to keep only one clean sheet in their last six at home, which opens up the possibility of taking the bigger odds about a Roma win with both teams on the board.

Rossoblu have been scoring regularly on the road this term and should find a way to oblige, as they did at Juventus and Napoli, two clubs with better defensive records than Roma.
