LASK Linz vs Rosenborg Predictions

LASK beat Sturm Graz 2-0 away on Saturday and will be hoping to build upon that victory in their first game in Group D at home to Rosenborg. The visitors claimed all three points at home to Lillestrom at the weekend and have now gone five games without a defeat, so confidence is bound to be high in the Rosenborg camp.

All of the stats suggest to us that both teams will score when these two sides lock horns for the very first time on Thursday and we’ve predicted that the game will end in a 1-1 draw.

The form and performances of both clubs over the last month or so point towards goals being scored at both ends of the pitch on Thursday, as both teams scored in three of LASK’s and four of Rosenborg’s last six matches, while both teams have managed to keep one clean sheet apiece in their last six attempts. The hosts have only failed to score in two of their last six matches, while their guests have only failed to score in one of their last six games, which adds more weight to our prediction for both teams to score on Thursday night.

Rosenborg are unbeaten in their last five matches after securing wins against Lillestrom, Strindheim, and Stabaek, whilst picking up draws with Valerenga and Dinamo Zagreb. LASK have only won two of their last six matches, neither of which were at home, and they were beaten 3-1 on aggregate by Club Brugge in the Champions League qualifiers last month. Rosenborg have drawn two of their last four matches 1-1, which is why we’re leaning towards a score draw on Thursday, especially as LASK are without a win at home in their last three attempts.

We’re confident that both teams will score on Thursday and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. The visitors are in good form having not tasted defeat in any of their last five matches, while LASK have failed to win any of their last three home games and seemingly feel the pressure more in front of their own fans, which is why we believe a 1-1 draw is the most likely result on Thursday.
