Lazio vs Udinese Betting Tips

The 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Chievo is both inexplicable and disappointing for Lazio. It followed an impressive opening weekend win, which came whilst most of their rivals were slipping up in one surprising fashion or another.

Still, not much has changed since the start of the season. They do lack an out and out reliable goal-scorer, but they are an exciting football team to watch and they’ll unveil that 4-3-3 once again on Sunday.

Their opponents have caused a shock, but also have been shocked this season. They beat Juventus 1-0 away from home on the opening day of the season, reminding all Serie A fans that this is indeed a brand new campaign. They then returned home only to lose 1-0 to Palmero in their second game.

It’s difficult to say which Udinese will come out of the international break, but they were a side that entered the seasons with question marks about the make-up of their squad and ability to have any sort of serious impact. They’ll be tested on this trip to Lazio, even if they are able to set up shop in front of their net.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. No faith in Udinese goal-scoring

We haven’t seen much to suggest that this side is a serious goal-scoring threat and before we do, it’s hard to tip them to achieve anything. Perhaps another upset is brewing, but we’re not expecting a repeat of that opening weekend game.

2. Lazio will enjoy ball control

They enjoyed ball control against Chievo, but struggled to get comfortable with it. We don’t think that the pressure will be quite the same against Udinese and we expect Lazio’s intensity to edge up just a notch.

The odds are tilted towards Lazio, but we still like how this lines up from their perspective in terms of the return.
