      Leeds vs Derby Predictions

The Rams moved to the top of the table with a 2-0 win against Fulham on Boxing Day although they were helped by the postponement of Middlesbrough’s game. That was their 3rd straight win and it extended their unbeaten run to 7 matches and it’s just 1 defeat in 18 now for Steve Clement’s side.

They come up against another in-form team here though. Leeds are unbeaten in 5 matches now after their 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest on Sunday and they’d won 3 of the previous 4. As a result they are in the top half of the table and there is even something of a feel good factor about the club at the moment for the first time in a long while.

However this will be a very tough game against a Derby side that are looking good for a return to the top flight for the first time since they were relegated with a record low 11 points.

Leeds have some steel to them now and have proved capable of scrapping for results in tough games and they are likely to be cautious here against a Derby side that are likely to dominate possession.

It’s hard to see there being too many goals here. Both teams have scored in only 1 of the last 10 matches involving Derby, who have kept 8 clean sheets in that period. Meanwhile both teams have netted in only 3 of the last 10 involving Leeds so consider backing ‘No’ in the ‘Both teams to score’ market at 8/11.

Of the two, it’s Derby who have the more players capable of breaking the deadlock though and they have won away at some tough places in recent weeks, winning 2-0 at 3rd place Hull and 1-0 at 6th place Ipswich.

Therefore consider backing a 1-0 away win in this game at 5/1.
