Leeds vs Norwich Predictions
- Leeds have won six of their last eight matches against Norwich
- Four of the last five meetings have seen one or both teams fail to score
- Leeds have won their last home fixtures against Norwich to nil
Whites to clip Canaries’ wings
Leeds have won their last three home meetings with Norwich to nil and we predict another clean sheet for the Whites in a narrow victory at Elland Road on Sunday.
The pair meet in a mouth-watering FA Cup fifth-round clash and the Championship side arrive in much better form than that of their Premier League hosts.
The Canaries have won five of their last six fixtures in all competitions, but as impressive as that sounds, a closer look shows that they have had a gentle schedule.
All five wins came against sides sat in the bottom-five places in the Championship and when faced with a higher-calibre opponent, Philippe Clement’s men have come up short.
Norwich’s last two losses have come against second-tier high-flyers Birmingham and Middlesbrough, suggesting this cup clash could be a bridge too far, too.
A home win to nil for Leeds then is the prediction, but it may not be comfortable afternoon for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Goals have been hard to find
Leeds have won their last four home meetings with Norwich while keeping a clean sheet, so a 1-0 scoreline looks the best course of action for correct-score punters.
The Whites have lost their last two home matches 1-0 and they have scored more than once in just two of their last nine outings.
Daniel Farke will be desperate to see off his former side who are in great form but who may be distracted by their midweek showdown with Sheffield United.
The Canaries are not completely out of the woods in the Championship survival scrap, so they may not be at full tilt in this contest.
Lukas a force to be reckoned with
The goals may have dried up somewhat for Leeds but lively German forward Lukas Nmecha remains in good nick and he could be the man to break the deadlock on Sunday.
Nmecha has bagged three goals in his last six outings and he may find chances even easier to come by against the Championship side.
The 27-year-old was on the mark in the previous round at Birmingham and he scored the winner against Fulham midway through January.
Norwich may be the latest side to succumb to his talents this weekend.
