Leicester City vs Randers FC Predictions

  • Leicester are undefeated at home in Europe so far this season (W1, D2).
  • The hosts have slotted before the 30th minute in five of their last seven home European clashes.
  • Visitors Randers qualified from Group D despite winning just one match (D4, L1).

New adventure for the Foxes

Brendan Rodgers was quoted saying “I don’t even know what the competition is” when his side dropped out of the Europa League at the group stage. But he’ll without a doubt have been putting in his research as his Leicester City side look to advance to the next round. Pressure has been mounting on the manager after a string of poor performances has seen them go without a win across their last five games. Their ain issue has been defending set-pieces, in fact, no Premier League side have conceded more from set-piece situations than the Foxes and they’ll need to address that as soon as possible, particularly against a giant side like Randers.

Randers have scored eight goals so far in the Europa Conference League and one of their top goalscorers is defender Simon Piesinger who stands at six foot four and he can be the dangerman from set-piece situations for the visitors. Randers, somewhat remarkably, qualified from Group D despite winning just once, drawing four and losing the other. They made themselves exceptionally difficult to beat but Thomas Thomasberg’s men failed to win away and this is a huge occasion for the team from Denmark.

Leicester to edge a thrilling encounter

This is a huge occasion for the visitors and we also think they’ll send their fans wild by getting on the scoresheet, possibly from a set piece. However, the stark contrast in quality between these two sides is there for all to see and so we think the hosts will eventually make light work of the visitors and claim victory. As such, we’re going with a Leicester win with both teams finding the back of the net.
