Leicester vs Liverpool Predictions

Leicester’s faint hopes of lifting the Champions League in this torrid season took a blow in midweek as they lost their first leg at Sevilla 2-1, although had it not been for Jamie Vardy pulling one back it could have been a lot bleaker.

This defeat follows on from their loss at Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend and makes it seven losses, one draw, and one win in their last nine outings in all competitions. In the Premier League things look a whole lot worse though, with five defeats and one draw in their last six outings.

This has seen them plummet towards the relegation zone, and they now sit just a point above it in 17th place. Hull, the side immediately below them in the table, are looking in excellent form as well. We could very well see the Premier League champions relegated this season if they don’t turn this around soon.

Liverpool haven’t been in the best of form in 2017 to be fair, but they did manage to break their duck with an excellent 2-0 win at home to Spurs last time out. They have also had the weekend and midweek off due to their early elimination from the FA Cup and their lack of European football. Fresh legs could give them the edge on Monday.

When you just take into account their Premier League away form, they actually look rather respectable despite their poor start to the year. They have won five of their last ten trips away and lost just twice, although it has seen them slip out of the top four and to 11 points behind the league leaders.

Leicester’s home form is marginally improved on their overall form, but they have only won two of their last seven in the league and have lost four times. This includes back to back 3-0 defeats at home to Chelsea and Manchester United, so there is the potential for a comprehensive victory here.

Leicester’s awful defence has resulted in a fair few high scoring matches this season, with six of their last eight at home seeing at least three goals in them. Liverpool have been involved in high scoring games in six of their last ten on the road too, so backing Over 2.5 Goals at 8/11 alongside a 3-1 win for Liverpool at 12/1 looks a good choice for our predictions.
