European setback should not derail Lille

Both Lille and Troyes suffered their first defeats of the season last time out and both will be eager to get back on track when they meet in Ligue 1 on Sunday at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Lille are still unbeaten in Ligue 1, with seven points from three games, but their first defeat came at the hands of Real Betis in the Champions League on Tuesday.

They were beaten 3-2, but that is nothing to be ashamed of, considering Betis beat Real Madrid last weekend.

Before that, they beat Angers 2-0 and Toulouse 1-0, either side of a 2-2 draw against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Troyes have made a decent start to the season considering their recent promotion, but their 6-2 defeat to Strasbourg at home is bound to have made a dent in their confidence.

The visitors have yet to prove they can mix it against one of the best teams in France, which Lille are, and they are set for a tough afternoon at the office this weekend.
