Linfield need to attack

Hosts Linfield have a hill to climb when they welcome The New Saints on Wednesday night in the second leg of this Champions League qualifier. They lost 1-0 and now they will look to get back on the winning track at the first time of asking. They had their fair share of chances in the first leg and were unfortunate that they weren’t able to get on the scoresheet. If they can continue to play with the required intensity, they may just have some better luck this time around.

The New Saints have started to build some pedigree on the European Stage as the Welsh champions have reached the third qualifying round of either the Europa League or Europa Conference League in three of the last four years. They come into this one with a small advantage but they could be forced to come out and go on the attack if they go behind early here.

Goals at both ends seem likely
