Liverpool vs West Brom Predictions

Liverpool couldn’t get the better of arch rivals Manchester United on Monday as they were held to a goalless draw at Anfield. The visiting Manchester United dominated the opening half of the match, but Liverpool improved significantly after the break and applied some pressure, but to no avail.

This ended Liverpool’s five match winning streak and denied them the top spot in the Premier League, but their unbeaten streak has now extended to eight matches. During this time they have scored an impressive 22 goals and conceded just five.

Four of Liverpool’s 18 Premier League goals this season have come from the penalty spot, with James Milner leading the scoring charts thanks to his stature as head penalty taker. Four penalties in eight games is quite a lot, with half of those coming at Anfield. This is thanks to the individual skill of the likes of Phillipe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, and Adam Lallana. West Brom commit an average of 14 fouls per game as well, so odds of 4/1 for Liverpool to Score a penalty look excellent value for money.

Liverpool’s lethal quartet of Coutinho, Lallana, Mane, and Roberto Firmino have been on fire this season as well. They have netted three goals apiece in the Premier League and Coutinho and Firmino have added one each in the League Cup as well. Lallana probably won’t last the full 90 minutes after his recent injury, so the best odds seem to be Coutinho to Score Anytime at 6/5 with bet365.

If you fancy a flutter on a West Brom goalscorer than you can look no further than Nacer Chadli. The former Spurs winger is the Baggies leading scorer this season with four Premier League goals and has netted all of these in West Brom’s last four matches. He comes in at a very well priced 5/1 to score anytime, much higher value than Salomon Rondon at 7/2 considering his excellent form of late.

West Brom getting on the score-sheet certainly isn’t out of the question. They have scored in seven of their nine games in all competitions this season and in four of their five away days. Liverpool have conceded in seven of their eight league games as well, with the goalless draw against Manchester United being their only clean sheet this term.

This makes odds of 21/20 for Both Teams to Score on Saturday look excellent value for money. Liverpool are huge favourites for this one, and despite West Brom being unbeaten in four matches I think it’s justified that they are such heavy favourites. Liverpool are looking lethal at the moment, so I’m going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1 as well.
