Lyon aim to continue resurgence under Pierre Sage

It has been a pretty forgettable season for Lyon but under Pierre Sage, the club are finally finding their rhythm and they can see off Lens at the Groupama Stadium on Sunday.

Sage took charge of Lyon at the end of November and, although it took the team time to get going, he has overseen five wins in their last six matches.

The one game they did not win in that run was a draw with Strasbourg in the French Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday but Lyon went on to win 4-3 on penalties to book their spot in the last four.

In Ligue 1, they are still some way off the European places as a result of their poor start but they can approach most games as free hits now and look a decent bet to beat Lens.

Lens not expected to cause a stir

Visitors Lens are in sixth but have gone four games without a win, losing their last two against Freiburg and Monaco in the Europa League and Ligue 1 respectively.

They should be opposed in this match too but they still have goals in them, going down 3-2 in each of their last two matches.

Indeed, Lens have found the net in six of their last seven assignments, so in the correct score market, a 2-1 win to Lyon could be the way to play it.
