Maidstone United vs Boreham Wood Predictions

With a two matches in just three days, the Bank Holiday weekend’s schedule can be a pretty punishing one, especially for those sides in the National League who have smaller squads. This Monday’s clash between Maidstone United and Boreham Wood highlights exactly that sort of clash but both sides will be doing all they can to ensure their efforts are not in vein.

The hosts will be keen to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat in front of the BT Sport cameras as they fell to a last gasp 3-2 defeat at the hands of Maidenhead United. It was a result which has summed up their early season form as wins over Dagenham and Redbidge and Barrow were the only two matches in which they have been able to claim maximum points so far.

Visiting the Gallagher Stadium is a Boreham Wood side who have struggled on the road in the early stages of the season. Although the visitors are yet to record a win away from home this season, the biggest worry will be their lack of goals as they have failed to score in all three matches away from home. A win over Halifax at the weekend will no doubt have lifted their spirits, but the problems are still there for all to see and it will take a big turnaround for them to be in the top half of the table come the end of the season.

The sides have only met six times in the last few years and in just one of those meetings, a 3-2 Boreham Wood win in the FA Trophy back in 2016, have both teams scored. This, combined with the visitors troubles in front of goal on the road, means that we believe backing ‘Both Teams to Score – No’ represents the best opportunity for a decent return in this fixture.
