Mallorca look up against it

On the face of it, Mallorca’s home form is pretty good, winning three games in a row 1-0 at San Moix, but there is a question over the teams they have beaten.

That run started with a victory over Atletico Madrid, but the other two victories were over struggling Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid.

Javier Aguirre’s side have also lost three of their last four outings, while suffering nine defeats in their last ten outings against Real Madrid, seven of them by a two or more goal cushion.

Real finding momentum again

After a patchy run following the World Cup, Real Madrid beat Valencia on Thursday night to make it three wins in five La Liga outings since Qatar 2022.

Each of those wins, two of them away from home, has been by a 2-0 margin, with the other successes coming at Athletic Bilbao and Real Valladolid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side also have one of the division’s best away records, racking up eight wins from ten attempts, with five of those coming by a two or more goal cushion.

I predict that Real Madrid will win this game with a -1 handicap, selecting 2-0 as a correct score prediction.
