World Cup dark horses face off at Sports Illustrated Stadium
Morocco and Norway meet in a warm-up friendly fixture on Sunday in a clash that sees two potential World Cup 2026 outsiders meet.
Morocco reached the last four in Qatar four years ago and have since claimed the AFCON trophy, albeit in controversial circumstances, while Norway enjoyed an exceptional qualification campaign and finished ahead of Italy in their group.
The Atlas Lions are on a 28-game unbeaten run and Norway have just one defeat in 15. Both managers should make full use of their respective squads so this should be a fairly open game and the best angle could be backing over 3.5 goals as both of these teams are in fine scoring form.
Norway hit an impressive 37 goals in their eight qualifiers and at least four goals have been scored in five of their last eight games. Morocco have scored 15 goals across their last five games, so both of these sides carry a serious threat in attack and they can combine for at least four goals.
These teams look fairly well matched and may settle for a draw in this warm-up. Both are also incredibly tough to beat so a 2-2 draw has a chance.
Erling Haaland almost certainly won’t play the full 90 minutes for Norway but he should still get enough time on the pitch to make an impact. The Man City striker hit 16 goals during qualifying and he looks the best bet for an anytime effort.
