Manchester United To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

United have won five matches on the spin against Everton, the last three of which have been to nil, and the Toffees may struggle to break down Ruben Amorim’s side given they have failed to score in half of their 12 league fixtures to date this term.

Manchester United 2-0

Reason for tip

United have won each of their last three against Everton to nil, with the most recent two encounters at Old Trafford finishing 2-0.  That scoreline could come in again given the Toffees lack of cutting edge in the final third this season, although they don’t tend to get blown away by opponents.

Rasmus Hojlund To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Rasmus Hojlund could be set to thrive under Ruben Amorim and after grabbing a brace in the Europa League during the week, he would appear a prime candidate to get on the scoresheet on Sunday.

Manchester United vs Everton Predictions

  • Manchester United have won five matches in a row against Everton
  • The Toffees have failed to score in half of their league matches this season
  • Rasmus Hojlund had three goal involvements for United on Thursday

United building under Amorim

Manchester United have picked up a win and a draw since Ruben Amorim’s arrival as head coach and it is now just one defeat in 11 across all competitions for the Red Devils.

Confidence should, therefore, be high in the United squad ahead of the visit of Everton, a team they enjoy facing, as they have won 41 Premier League matches against the Toffees, the highest tally of any side in the division against a single opponent.

That record is even more impressive when focused on meetings between the two sides at Old Trafford, with Everton’s last win over United at the venue coming in December 2013 when Bryan Oviedo scored the only goal in a 1-0 success.

Everton’s lack of cutting edge a concern

United have won five matches on the spin against Everton, with the last three of those successes coming without conceding.

Current Toffees boss Sean Dyche has been in the dugout for all of those defeats to nil and scoring goals has been a problem for his side throughout this season as well, with Everton drawing a blank in six of their 12 league games to date, including each of their last three.

Forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has failed to score in his last eight league appearances – all of which have been starts – and with bottom of the table Southampton being the only side to have scored fewer top-flight goals than the Toffees heading into this round of fixtures, it is hard to see how they will get on the scoresheet at Old Trafford.

Hojlund to build on midweek brace

It remains too early to tell which United players will thrive under Amorim and which will fall by the wayside, but the early signs are good for forward Rasmus Hojlund, who scored a brace in his first start under the Portuguese during the midweek Europa League success over Bodo/Glimt.

Hojlund also registered an assist in that 3-2 victory and he will hope to have done enough to keep his place in the starting XI on Sunday.

The Danish international reached double figures for goals in his debut Premier League season and although he has been in and out the team so far this term, he could prove a key figure under Amorim and may further underline his credentials with a goal against Everton.
