      FC Porto to Win

      Reason for tip

PSV are in a tricky spot after losing three of their last four matches. Defeats to Twente, Den Haag and Leipzig have left the Eindhoven outfit looking vulnerable and Porto look rock-solid on home turf.

      FC Porto 2-0

      Reason for tip

Porto have won five of their six home matches this season and three of those victories have come without conceding. PSV are a forward-thinking side, but the Dragons can control Tuesday’s tie and secure a 2-0 success.

      FC Porto vs PSV Predictions

      • PSV have lost three of their last four matches
      • Nine of PSV’s 12 matches this season have gone over 2.5 goals
      • Both teams have scored in nine of PSV’s 12 games

      Porto can punish PSV

PSV cruised to the Eredivisie title last season, but it already has the makings of a far more difficult campaign domestically and on the European stage for the Eindhoven outfit.

The Farmers were outplayed when losing the shot count 19-11 and falling 1-0 to Leipzig in the Champions League last week, but worse was to follow.

PSV were downed 2-1 at Den Haag on Saturday, and while Peter Bosz’s men were hampered by Sven Mijnans red card, that is still a worrying defeat.

The Eindhoven side were also beaten 3-2 at Twente last month and the expected goals of that tie finished 2.16 to 0.84 in favour of the home side.

Those away performances are a concern in the context of a Champions League trip to Porto.

The Dragons have won all of their opening eight Portuguese top-flight games this season, and while there have been a pair of Champions League losses, Francesco Farioli’s men are a strong side.

Porto were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City on Matchday One of Europe’s top competitions, but they played with credit in last week’s 3-2 loss at Real Betis and victory awaits on Tuesday night.
