Manchester United vs FC Copenhagen Predictions
- Manchester United have lost their opening two games in this group, conceding seven times
- Copenhagen have scored in 14 of their last 15 matches
- The Danish side have scored first against both Galatasaray and Bayern Munich
- Hojlund has scored in both Champions League games this term, netting three goals
Make or break for United
While a defeat away to Bayern Munich was excusable, United’s collapse against Galatasaray in matchday 2 of this Champions League group has left them up against it. The Turkish side hold a four-point lead over the Red Devils, who prop up the pool after two defeats from two.
Now United host Copenhagen knowing this is a must-win game. The Red Devils will likely be out of the running for the next round with another slip-up. The hosts have at least started to put some form together, with 2-1 wins over Brentford and Sheffield United in their last two. Can they add to that streak on Tuesday night?
Visitors could strike first
Copenhagen have already dropped five points from winning positions in the Champions League this season. They drew against Galatasaray after scoring first and then suffered a defeat against Bayern Munich after getting the first goal.
It is a positive that the Danish side have been hurting defences at this level, while the visitors have scored in 14 of their last 15 matches across all competitions. Copenhagen have seen both teams score in each of their last three matches, so we’re well-placed for another United thriller in Europe.
Back more goals for the Red Devils
United’s opening two games have been thrilling, first losing 4-3 to Bayern before their 3-2 home loss to Galatasaray. They have struggled defensively across all competitions, failing to keep a clean sheet across their last four matches.
Erik Ten Hag’s side have kept just two clean sheets across their last 11 matches and with seven goals conceded in this group already, they aren’t a safe bet for a shutout this week. The hosts have conceded in nine of their last 10 home Champions League games, so Copenhagen look good for a goal.
However, United are also in great scoring form and new signing Rasmus Hojlund has quickly adapted at Old Trafford. The striker has scored in both of his Champions League appearances for the Red Devils, netting three times in the process. Back him to score again on Tuesday night.
