Manchester United vs Fulham Predictions
- Both teams have scored in two previous meetings this season.
- Fulham have scored in seven of their last nine away from home.
- United have conceded in three of their last five games.
Job done for United and Fulham
Manchester United and Fulham face off in the final round of Premier League games on Sunday in what is effectively a dead-rubber.
The Cottagers achieved their top target of Premier League survival some time ago, while United secured their place in next season’s Champions League on Thursday with a 4-1 win over Chelsea.
United boss Erik Ten Hag is likely to rotate his side after playing in midweek as the FA Cup final against Man City will be the priority now. Fulham boss Marco Silva could also be tempted to tinker with his starting XI as they will finish 10th whatever happens on Sunday.
Expect an open game
With little at stake, both sides should be able to play with a bit of freedom and as such both teams to score appeals as our main bet.
These sides have met twice already this season, in the league and FA Cup, and both teams scored in both of those games.
Fulham have been in good scoring form away from home and have only failed to score in two of their last nine trips, and they should be able to make a few inroads against a potentially much-changed United defence who will be looking ahead to their Wembley date.
United should be expected to score as they look to end the season on a positive note in front of their own fans, and they have only drawn one blank in their last 27 games at Old Trafford.
United can finish with a win
Old Trafford has been a fortress for United this season and they have only lost twice at this venue all season, while they are unbeaten at home since September.
United have won 14 of their 18 home games and won’t want to see their unbeaten streak ended in the final game, so a 2-1 win for the home side looks a reasonable correct score prediction as they score on average 1.9 goals-per-game.
Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic is a contender for an anytime goal as he looks to make amends. The Serbian was handed an eight-game ban after being sent off at Old Trafford in the FA Cup and has hit three goals in two games since returning to action, and he will be desperate to get on the scoresheet as he returns to the scene of the crime on Sunday.
