      Marseille vs Ajax Predictions

Marseille will be looking to put a disappointing year behind them after finishing in the bottom half of Ligue 1 last season, but they will have to prepare for the new campaign without two of their star names. Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda left at the end of his contract to join up with Crystal Palace and striker Michy Batshuayi has also crossed the channel to play in the Premier League, signing for Chelsea.

Franck Passi steered the club away from relegation danger with a decent end to the league campaign, but the Coupe de France final was lost 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain. Marseille have played a couple of friendlies so far, losing 2-1 to Lausanne but beating Nimes 1-0, but Ajax will be the biggest test of their pre-season preparations so far.

Ajax missed out on the Eredivisie title in dramatic fashion on the last day of the season despite a long unbeaten run at the end of the campaign, so Peter Bosz will be looking to go one better after taking over from Frank de Boer. New signings include Davinson Sánchez and Mateo Casierra, both of whom could feature against Marseille, with Ajax having a mixed pre-season so far.

A 2-0 win against Liaoning Whowin was followed up by a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Liefering, with a 2-2 draw against AFC rounding off their trio of games so far. Goals could therefore be on the cards for this match, with Ajax favoured to come out on top after their strong league campaign last year.

Ajax to Win at 7/5 with bet365 is very tempting for those looking to have a wager on this week’s club friendlies, while from the correct scores market, Ajax to Win 2-1 at 10/1 with bet365 stands out as being worthy of consideration too.
