Middlesbrough vs Huddersfield Predictions
Middlesbrough will be hopeful their rocky patch and off-field squabbles are now behind them following crucial back-to-back wins at home to Huddersfield and away to QPR on Friday night. Their 3-2 victory at Loftus Road was their best attacking display for some time and they’ll be hopeful of carrying that on here against a Huddersfield team that will present them some opportunities. Boro are in 2nd place, 3 points behind Burnley and 1 above Brighton but they do have a game in hand on both clubs.
Their opponents Huddersfield are down in 18th place but have a solid 8 point cushion on the bottom 3 and have been playing well enough to suggest they won’t be dragged into the relegation scrap. The Terriers have lost 4 of their last 6 matches but have won the other two and are the sort of side that will have a go in this game rather than merely park the bus which is what many Championship teams do when they come to the Riverside.
That will be music to the ears of the likes of Jordan Rhodes who finally netted his 2nd goal in a Boro shirt in the win at QPR and will be hopeful that it will be the start of a goalscoring flurry for him between now and the end of the season. Middlesbrough have won their last 3 matches at home and are very strong there and against a Huddersfield side that have conceded at least once in all of their last 7 outings, consider backing Middlesbrough to score over 1.5 goals at 5/6.
