Middlesbrough vs Wolves Predictions
Middlesbrough fans are worrying their team is going to repeat last year when they faded late on to miss out on automatic promotion and suffered heartbreak in the play-off final. They were beaten 2-1 at Blackburn on Tuesday and have picked up only 9 points from their last 8 league games to fall off the top and down to 3rd place. They still have 2 games in hand on Hull and Burnley above them though and a win here would push them a step closer to the promised land of the Premier League.
Wolves dented the hopes of one side gunning for promotion last weekend when they beat Derby 2-1 at Molineux. 22 year old George Saville was the hero with 2 goals but Wolves’ overall recent form is poor and they’d lost their 3 games prior to that and had gone 7 games without a win prior to that.
They’ve only scored 1 goal in their last 5 away matches and it’s hard to see them troubling the league’s meanest defence much here so it could just be a question of whether Middlesbrough are good enough to break Wolves down. There is a lot of attacking quality in their side with likes of Stewart Downing, Gaston Ramirez, Christian Stuani and Jordan Rhodes all capable of playing at a higher level and sooner or later surely it is going to click into place. There were signs of that in their 3-1 win over Cardiff and against a fairly uninspiring Wolves side they should be able to get the job done here and you can back Middlesbrough to Win 2-0 at 11/2.
