Midtjylland seek strong start

The new season begins in Denmark this weekend and the clash between Midtjylland and Odense is the curtain raiser on Friday evening.

Midtjylland finished just one point behind champions Bronby in the Danish Superliga and will be looking to make a statement in their first outing of the new season at their MCH Arena home.

OB ended up in the relegation round last term, although they were never in any real danger of dropping out of the top flight as they finished 17 points clear of the drop zone.

The Ulvene had an excellent record at home last season with 12 wins, two draws and two defeats from their 16 league games.  The Herning outfit won seven of their final eight home games of last season, drawing the other, and should be able to carry that form into the new campaign.

OB’s did sign off with a win in their final away match of last term but that was just their fourth of the season, and it came against a Lyngby outfit who had already been relegated by that stage.

Midtjylland had a productive pre-season with two wins and a defeat from three games and they will be keen to hit the ground running as they bid to wrestle the title back from Bronby.  We’re expecting the home side to beat a -1 handicap, and 3-0 holds some appeal in the correct score market.
