Minnesota United vs Seattle Sounders Predictions

• Seattle Sounders are unbeaten after 13 MLS games (W8, D5)
• Seattle have won seven of their least eight meetings with Minnesota United, drawing the other.
• The Sounders have won three of their last four away games.

Sounders seek to extend unbeaten streak

Seattle Sounders are the only team yet to taste defeat in MLS and they should be able to maintain their unbeaten record when they head to Minnesota United on Sunday.

The Sounders suffered MLS Cup heartache last season with a 3-0 defeat to Columbus Crew.  Brian Schmetzer’s team have shrugged off that disappointment though, and have amassed an impressive 29 points from their opening 13 games of the season (W8, D5).

Minnesota sit in the final playoff place in the Western Conference with 15 points from their 13 games so far.  The Loons have been better at home, but they have still been beaten twice  and all 10 of the points they’ve picked up at Allianz Field have come against the teams currently in the bottom four of the West.

Seattle have the best away record in MLS with 11 points from five games so far,  The Sounders have won three of their road games and been held twice, and their draws have come against top five teams in the West in the shape of LA FC and Colorado Rapids.

The Sounders do have a few injury concerns but should have enough strength within their squad to claim all three points here.  The Seattle outfit have dominated this fixture over the last few seasons with seven wins and a draw in the last eight MLS games between the two teams, and an away victory looks good value ahead of this clash on Sunday.  

Seattle have only kept one clean sheet on the road so far and Minnesota have only failed to score in one of their home games so we could see goals at both ends, and a 3-1 victory for Seattle has some appeal in the correct score market.
