Newcastle Jets will be relatively pleased with how their season has gone as we approach the final matches of the Hyundai A-League regular season. They finished last season rock bottom of the table with just 12 points from their 27 games, but so far this season they have picked up 27 points and are still in with an outside chance of making the playoffs.

Their only slip up was a defeat away to A-League leaders Western Sydney Wanderers.

This excellent run has banished the memories of their poor first half to the season, and they are actually still in with a chance of winning the A-League Premiership. However, the five point gap between them in 5th and top of the table Western Sydney will require all the teams above them to slip up multiple times in the remaining three matches.

Perth Glory have won four of their last five matches on the road, and I think they’ll add another victory to this record on Saturday.
